Cat 88

Precision fitment for powders and sampling. Cat 88 is engineered for the controlled handling of fine powders and air sampling. Its unique wave filter and injection needle system make it ideal for sensitive and precise processes in food, pharma, and diagnostics.

Advantages

Developed for the solid packaging industry, the CAT-88 Wave Valve (Controlled Atmosphere Technology) is an advanced venting solution designed for applications involving seeds, nuts, powders, and especially sensitive products like baby powder, where Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) is essential. Primarily an air release valve, the CAT-88 is also engineered to accept nitrogen flushing to reduce the oxygen level to significantly extend product shelf life. This dual functionality is critical in maintaining low oxygen levels for sensitive dry goods.
A standout feature is the air sampling cap: equipped with a self-sealing rubber insert, it allows users to safely measure internal oxygen levels using a needle—without direct contact with the product, thanks to the barrier created by the wave disk filter. At the heart of the CAT-88 is a wave-shaped internal filter made from porous polyethylene, uniquely formed to create a large surface level for an optimal venting. This structure allows for uninterrupted airflow while effectively blocking fine particles and powders from escaping and disturbing the connected machinery. Additionally this unique wave filter is relative flat which avoid any damage compared to older solutions in the market. Even more important the wave filter is not glued but an inmolded product, so no risk with contamination with your high value product. The screw thread is industry standard, making it fully compatible with existing systems. Qbig provides custom connector heads for seamless integration. The valve body is made from polyethylene, ensuring strong adhesion when heat-sealing to standard liner bag materials. Robust, adaptable, and built for MAP performance, the CAT-88 Wave Valve is the next-generation standard for precision-controlled packaging environments.
